Walk Wapato Greenway State Park
About this event
Let's walk the natural, flat and easy 2.5-mile loop trail that takes us around marshy areas, through meadows and next to dense woods of big-leaf maples, hazel and Douglas-firs. We can stop at viewpoints and Hadley's Landing to see waterfowl (Canada geese, buffleheads, wigeons, ringed-necked ducks, mallards, pintails and grebes, along with herons) and lots of songbirds.
We'll also be walking along the Multnomah channel and can go out on a dock to watch on the waterway. There is a Porta Potti to the right toward the back of the store, just after crossing the bridge. There are no restrooms or water at the trailhead. Dogs are permitted, on leashes. Please clean up after your pet.
Bring lunch or a snack and beverage with you. We can eat under a covered picnic shelter after we hike. Parking is free.
