Hike: Lacamas Park, Round Lake, camas fields
Hike Description:
Lacamas park is a surprisingly wild place in a populated area. The natural attractions include, large Western Redcedar and Douglas fir trees, lush ferns, bubbling streams, and hopefully blooming camas fields and many other wildflowers.
Hike Leader: Laura Dickinson
Distance: 3.6 miles, moderate difficulty, 340’ elevation gain
Trail conditions: Most of the trails are natural surfaces. We will be hiking some trails off the main path that are hilly, narrow and full of rocks and roots. Please wear sturdy hiking boots and bring poles if they are helpful for you.
Lunch: If the weather looks favorable, please bring a sack lunch and drink which we will enjoy at one of the many picnic tables that have a view of Round lake. There are nice, clean restrooms near the picnic tables.
Meeting time: 10:00 am.
Meeting location: Lacamas Park auxiliary gravel lot.
READ ALL DIRECTION NOTES!
Use GPS with the following address: 3344 NE Everett St., Camas, WA, 98607
The GPS address is for the small main Lacamas lot but DO NOT turn into that lot. Continue one block north over the bridge to 35th Ave. Turn right on 35th. You will pass three houses on your left then turn left into the Lacamas Park auxiliary gravel lot. Turn slowly as this is a large primitive dirt and gravel lot with a lot of potholes. The only meeting place is the gravel lot two blocks from the GPS address given.
