Date(s): Fri May 24, 2013 12:01 PM - Mon May 27, 2013 10:00 AM
This is the first campout of the season. We will be staying at the Klickitat County campground in the group camp area at Trout Lake. Cost includes the group camp area, firewood, meals Friday evening through Monday morning, and non alcoholic beverages. You bring your own tent, RV, sleeping bag, flashlight, hiking boots, bicycle, golf clubs, swimming suit, change for the showers, lounge chair, etc. Also bring a food item to share at either Saturday or Sunday evening s meal. Everyone is required to sign up for one chore during the weekend. RV campers should contact 509 773 3900 to reserve your space. There is room in the group area for small RV s. We will go white water rafting Sunday and for you golfers there is a course about 10 to 12 miles south towards Hood River. There are plenty of great county roads for bicycling. Also plan to visit the Wind River Winery. Bring games to play Saturday and Sunday night. Sorry no children. Dogs must be kept under their master s control at all times.

TGIF Joe s Burgers

Date: Fri May 24, 2013 4:30 PM - 7:30 PM
Their menu features burgers, sandwiches, salads, pizza and more. They even have milk shakes, and seasonally have an Avocado milkshake ? which purportedly is said to taste much better than it sounds. The Happy Hour menu from 3 6 PM, starts off with 1 PBR draughts, and salads starting at 2, and a daily drink special. They have a nice deck for outdoors if the weather is good, but Happy Hour prices were only good in the bar. I encourage you to visit their website for a full menu and information including other locations at http://www.joesburgers.com/. Their website is unlike any other I have ever seen and very interesting. Joes seems to be a great place to socialize and a nice place to start off the holiday weekend if you re staying in town. Be sure to invite your friends. TGIF is open to the public and a great way to introduce non members to The Bergies. The bar is not real large, but the restaurant is huge with a nice deck. This seems to be a great place and location, and comes with high recommendations from Bev Vojta, who has earned a free drink or appetizer from the Happy Hour menu. You too can earn one if you call me with a recommendation and we end up going there. You don t have to do the legwork other than just having been there and liking it. Call Dave Ebright, 503 502 8148. If you have read this far, you might as well come. You will like it. We ll see you there.
